Bachelor of Arts
Murdoch University, Perth, WA, Australia
About this program
A three-year, 72 credit point arts degree built around a choice of about 14 majors across the humanities, social sciences and creative disciplines, including English and Creative Writing, History, Philosophy, Politics and International Studies, Asian Studies, Sociology, International Aid and Development, and Theatre and Creative Production. Students can take one or two majors and use Discovery units to reach into other disciplines.
The degree emphasises critical thinking, research and communication, with practical experience available through internships and community projects. Delivery is flexible, on campus, online or mixed. Entry is an ATAR of about 70 or equivalent, with alternative pathways available. Graduates work as policy and project officers, communications and media advisers, researchers and community development workers across government, international development, media and the not-for-profit sector. It suits students who want a broad, self-directed humanities degree rather than a narrowly vocational one.
