About this program
The Bachelor of Arts allows students to combine majors across the humanities, social sciences and creative disciplines, building a foundation of transferable skills while tailoring the degree to individual interests. Students can study languages and cultures through Japanese, Indonesian or Asian Studies; politics, society and global issues through Politics and International Studies, Sociology, International Aid and Development or Sustainable Development; creativity and storytelling through English and Creative Writing or Theatre and Creative Production; or people, ideas and communities through Community Development, History, Philosophy or Tourism and Events. The degree also includes practical experience through industry-led projects, internships or community-based opportunities. Graduates go on to work in media, government, international development, community services or the creative industries. Humanities and social science fields covered by this degree are largely outside Australia's skilled occupation lists, so the Bachelor of Arts is a weaker standalone pathway to a points-based skilled visa than vocational degrees, though a 485 graduate visa remains available to eligible international graduates after study. This course is delivered by Murdoch University in Western Australia.

Admissions
A minimum ATAR (or equivalent selection rank) of 70 is required for direct entry, or an International Baccalaureate Diploma total score of 24 or higher. Applicants who do not meet this can gain entry via Murdoch's foundation, bridging and enabling pathway programs, or via recognised prior study, VET qualifications or relevant work experience assessed case by case.
