Bachelor of Arts Honours
Murdoch University, Perth, WA, Australia
About this program
A one-year honours year following a Bachelor of Arts or a related degree at Murdoch, taken in a discipline such as history, English and creative writing, politics and international studies, sociology or Asian studies. It combines advanced coursework with a supervised thesis on a topic matched to a supervisor's expertise. Entry requires a completed bachelor's degree with a strong grade average, usually a credit average or better, in the proposed area. The honours result is classified as first, upper second, lower second or third class, and a first or upper second is the standard requirement for PhD entry and scholarships. It suits arts graduates who want to research a question in depth and open a pathway to higher degree study.
