About this program

A three-year degree covering food composition, processing and preservation alongside human nutrition, including how diet, the gut microbiome and nutrients affect health and disease. Students work in laboratories and food production settings with industry-standard equipment, and use Murdoch's living labs including Whitby Falls Farm.

There is no single professional accreditation attached to the degree. Entry is an ATAR of about 70 with alternative pathways available. It suits students aiming at food manufacturing, product development, quality assurance, food safety regulation or public health nutrition roles, and it can be paired with a Master of Food Science for a longer research-oriented path.
