About this program

A three-year science degree with a major in forensic biology or forensic chemistry and toxicology, and an optional second major in forensic investigation. Students run simulated crime scenes and analyse biological and chemical evidence in the labs of the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct.

The distinctive element is the Cold Case Review initiative, where students contribute to real unsolved homicide and missing-persons cases under supervision. Entry is an ATAR of about 70. It suits students who want a laboratory and investigation career applying science to the justice system, working toward roles as forensic scientists, toxicologists, crime scene officers or laboratory analysts, with postgraduate study in forensic science or research as a next step.
