About this program
The Bachelor of Global Security examines geopolitical tensions, cyber threats, terrorism and emerging technologies, and how they can be addressed at local, national and international levels. Students study political, social and economic factors that shape security environments, along with terrorism and counterterrorism, intelligence, international relations and strategic policy, developing skills to interpret and respond to global events. The course draws on academic research and real-world practice to examine how governments, organisations and agencies work to prevent and respond to security threats, with attention to ethical decision making. Students can tailor the degree through majors in Cyberspace, Policy and Security, Environment, Conflict and Security, Terrorism and Counterterrorism Studies, or Politics and International Studies. Global security is not a standard skilled migration occupation by itself, and graduates typically move into policy, government or private-sector analyst roles rather than a defined migration pathway; many government and intelligence roles in Australia require citizenship or permanent residency to apply. This course is delivered by Murdoch University in Western Australia.

Admissions
A minimum ATAR (or equivalent selection rank) of 70 is required for direct entry, or an International Baccalaureate Diploma total score of 24 or higher. Applicants who do not meet this can gain entry via Murdoch's foundation, bridging and enabling pathway programs, or via recognised prior study, VET qualifications or relevant work experience assessed case by case.
