About this program
The Bachelor of Information Technology and Business combines technical IT knowledge with business and management skills over three years, focusing on how technology is applied within organisations rather than coding alone. Students learn to design, implement and manage technology solutions that support business goals, alongside strategy, operations and decision making, and complete project-based learning on real-world challenges. The course includes hands-on experience in the university's IT Innovation Hub, using data infrastructure and technologies developed in collaboration with industry. IT-related occupations such as ICT business analyst, systems analyst, software engineer and developer programmer are assessed by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) for skilled migration, generally requiring the degree plus one to two years of relevant work experience or a Professional Year in IT, with the 485 graduate visa the usual route for building that experience. This course is delivered by Murdoch University in Western Australia.

Admissions
A minimum ATAR (or equivalent selection rank) of 70 is required for direct entry, or an International Baccalaureate Diploma total score of 24 or higher. Applicants who do not meet this can gain entry via Murdoch's foundation, bridging and enabling pathway programs, or via recognised prior study, VET qualifications or relevant work experience assessed case by case.
