About this program
A four-year degree in diagnostic pathology science, covering biochemistry, haematology, immunology, microbiology, histopathology, diagnostic genomics and transfusion science, with practical laboratory training and placements in diagnostic pathology labs.
It is professionally accredited by the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists, and Murdoch says accredited graduates are preferentially employed by the pathology sector. Study is based in the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct alongside hospitals and research centres. Entry is an ATAR of about 70. It suits students who want a laboratory-based health career diagnosing disease from patient samples, rather than patient-facing clinical work.
