About this program
The Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) is an accelerated law degree for students who already hold a recognised degree, building on that prior study with legal knowledge, critical thinking and practical skills. The course has a focus on social justice and the role of law in society, and includes a clinical legal program in partnership with organisations such as SCALES Community Legal Centre, giving students experience working with real clients. Students also compete in the university's mooting program, arguing simulated cases in a purpose-built courtroom, alongside placements through the Work Integrated Learning program. Students can combine law with their existing qualification to develop a specialisation. Legal practice is a difficult pathway to Australian skilled migration: solicitor and barrister appear on occupation lists, but an overseas graduate must first be admitted to an Australian state legal profession through assessed academic subjects, Practical Legal Training and admission by the state Supreme Court. Many international law graduates instead use the degree for policy, compliance or corporate legal-adjacent roles, or further study, which are not nominated occupations; registration as a migration agent (OMARA) is a separate, narrower path. This course is delivered by Murdoch University in Western Australia.

On both MLTSSL and CSOL, but a positive skills assessment is not the same as being able to practise. Graduate-entry pathway: Successful completion of a recognised Bachelor degree (AQF level 7) in any discipline. Applicants without a prior bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline are not eligible for direct entry to this course.
