About this program
This course is intended for students beginning a path toward professional counselling, or who need to build counselling skills for an existing role as a teacher, nurse, or human services professional. Learning is delivered through experiential education, with an emphasis on the quality of the counselling relationship as a central feature of effective practice. Graduates may apply for admission to the Graduate Diploma in Counselling, the Graduate Diploma in Creative Arts Therapies, or the Master of Counselling, and receive credit for units already completed that are common to those degrees. Counsellor is not consistently a nominated skilled migration occupation in Australia, so this qualification is better suited to students focused on the practice itself or on further study rather than a defined migration pathway. The course is delivered by Murdoch University in Western Australia.

Admissions
