About this program
The graduate certificate runs four core subjects over two trimesters full time (or four or more part time), covering the theoretical and ethical foundations of counselling: advanced therapeutic communication, theoretical approaches to counselling, life stages and development, and self-care and resilience. It is aimed at practitioners in nursing, social work and teaching who want to extend their counselling and interpersonal-communication skills, and also functions as the entry gate into Torrens' Graduate Diploma and Master of Counselling for students without a related prior degree.
Delivered fully online.

Admissions
AQF Level 7 (Bachelor degree) or above in a relevant discipline; OR a Bachelor's degree plus the Torrens Work Life entry form demonstrating suitability. Students without a prior related degree must complete this Graduate Certificate before enrolling in the Graduate Diploma, Master or Advanced Master of Counselling.
