About this program
This course allows practising teachers to study a specialist area in more depth and build higher-level teaching capabilities. Students choose from a range of majors that are also priorities for Australian schools, including early childhood principles and practices, e-learning, inclusive and special needs education, instructional leadership, international education, secondary English (7-10), teaching humanities and social sciences (7-10), secondary mathematics (7-10), secondary science (7-10), teaching Indonesian, teaching Japanese, teaching agricultural science and agribusiness, and sustainable pedagogies for liveable futures. The flexible program addresses contemporary issues facing the teaching workforce, with teaching delivered by academics working in each field. Secondary teaching in mathematics, science, and languages is consistently on Australia's skilled occupation lists and nominated by several states, though state teaching-authority registration is required separately to work as a teacher. The course is delivered by Murdoch University in Western Australia.

Admissions
Bachelor of Education (AQF Level 7) or equivalent OR a bachelor degree from any discipline (AQF level 7) and at least 2 years full time (or equivalent) of teaching experience in the education sector.
