About this program
Murdoch University has more than ten years of experience teaching migration law and offers the Graduate Diploma in Australian Migration Law and Practice, which is recognised by the Office of Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA) as satisfying the required entry-level course for registration as a migration agent (registration also requires the Capstone exam and other criteria). A law degree is not required for entry, and the course is also relevant for practising legal professionals looking to expand into migration law. Teaching is led by academics and experienced practitioners, with a practical, hands-on focus. Migration agent registration through OMARA is a distinct, narrower pathway than broader legal practice, and is one option for graduates rather than a route to admission as a solicitor or barrister. Admissions
A formal qualification that is recognised as the equivalent of an Australian (AQF Level 7) Bachelor degree (a cognate degree or non-cognate area). If no Bachelor degree, evidence of formal or informal learning or work experience determined by the Academic Chair to meet AQF 7 criteria.
