About this program
The Graduate Diploma in Criminology covers areas such as security and surveillance, terrorism, policing, cybercrime, and transnational crime, examining the drivers of criminal behaviour. Students learn to evaluate and apply criminological theories and methods to real-world settings through work placements, with past students undertaking internships in federal or state government agencies, including community safety departments and providers working in areas such as domestic violence response and inmate reintegration. Graduates can gain direct entry into the Master of Criminology. Criminology is not a standard skilled migration occupation, and government roles in policing and forensic services generally require citizenship or permanent residency, so graduates typically move into policy, government, or private-sector analyst roles rather than a defined migration pathway.
