About this program
Biosecurity manages the threat posed by pests and diseases as global trade and the movement of people increases, and is central to world trade, environmental protection and agriculture. The course covers biosecurity measures such as risk analysis, quarantine and surveillance used to stop the entry and spread of exotic organisms, rapid emergency response to an incursion or pandemic declaration, and managing pests and diseases that become established in a new region. Biosecurity is a growing field for professionals in agriculture, the environment, and international and domestic trade, and is increasingly relevant to private industry and the public more broadly. Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs), which subsidise a substantial share of fees, are available to eligible domestic students. This course is delivered by Murdoch University in Western Australia.
