Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology
Murdoch University, Perth, WA, Australia
About this program
A one-year master's (three trimesters) that builds on an exercise science background to qualify graduates as clinical exercise physiologists. It covers exercise prescription, clinical assessment and behaviour change for chronic disease management, and includes a year-long industry placement working alongside Accredited Exercise Physiologists and other health professionals.
The program is accredited by Exercise and Sports Science Australia at exercise physiology level, so graduates are eligible to apply to register with ESSA as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Entry requires a weighted average of at least 60 in prior study plus current ESSA Exercise Scientist registration, a recent ESSA-accredited exercise science degree, or completion of a graduate entry assessment. Facilities include physiology laboratories and a performance centre with 3D motion capture. It suits exercise science graduates moving into clinical practice with chronic and complex conditions.
