About this program
Exercise science is a growing discipline in Australia and internationally. The Master of Exercise Science (Research) develops skills in prescribing exercise for individuals with complex and chronic conditions alongside research skills. In the first year, students complete coursework and an internship within Murdoch's Exercise Science Research program, before the course culminates in a research project addressing a current issue in exercise science, ranging from improving sports performance in elite athletes to personalising exercise programs for people living with chronic conditions or disease. The course suits graduates of sports and exercise programs seeking both clinical and research skills, or those aiming for a higher degree without a conventional research background.

Admissions
Minimum Bachelor Degree (AQF level 7 or international equivalent) in Exercise Science, Sport Science or related discipline or * have a Bachelor Degree in a different discipline (AQF level 7) and: a) have successfully completed a graduate course in the same discipline requiring at least one year of equivalent full-time study (AQF level 8); or b) satisfy the Dean of Graduate Research with evidence of professional attainments (of at least two years' full-time duration or equivalent) relevant to the proposed research discipline;
