About this program
A postgraduate degree that builds leadership and management skills for the health sector, with a strong focus on patient safety, quality and clinical governance alongside financial management, health policy and human factors. Learning is applied: students complete project work that takes something from the course and applies it to a real clinical setting, supported by free skills workshops in writing, statistics, data analysis and research ethics. Students can specialise in Gerontological Healthcare or Contemporary Mental Health, and Murdoch also offers a combined MBA and Master of Health Care Management, the only one of its kind in Western Australia. Entry normally requires a bachelor's degree in a health discipline, with professional experience considered case by case. Graduates move into department, service and facility management roles across hospitals, aged care and community health.
