About this program
QUT's Master of Nursing (Entry to Practice) is a two-year graduate-entry degree that prepares people who are not already nurses to apply for registration as a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. One year of advanced standing is built in, so it runs two years rather than three. Students complete 800 hours of clinical placement plus simulation practice, and a bioscience unit in first semester grounds them in anatomy and physiology. Entry for applicants without a nursing background is a recognised bachelor degree in another field completed within the past ten years with a grade point average of at least 4.0 on a 7-point scale. Graduates begin practice as registered nurses across acute, community, aged care and mental health settings.
