About this program

The award-winning Associate Degree in Design (Furniture) at RMIT University teaches students to create original furniture designs with a strong grounding in design methods, manufacturing technologies and processes informed by cultural and social factors. Students combine real-life industry projects and design theory with a hands-on focus on production to create sustainable contemporary furniture products, and investigate the contemporary, cultural and environmental aspects of professional furniture design practice. Assignments are live industry briefs, and students can participate in global design and trade exhibitions. It is taught in Melbourne.
