About this program

The RMIT Bachelor of Professional Communication lets students customise a career in advertising, digital communication and public relations, choosing a double major or specialising in one major with three minors from a broad range of multidisciplinary areas. The degree integrates creative production, conceptual analysis and critical reflection with professional industry knowledge. You'll explore how campaigns are created, how digital platforms shape everyday life, and how organisations communicate with different audiences in a complex, fast‑changing world. You'll also examine how knowledge, culture and place are connected, and what this means for you as a university student and emerging communication professional. Across your subjects, you'll analyse real campaigns and case studies, create content for different platforms, and complete activities that link you with industry while you develop core academic and critical thinking skills. Prerequisites: Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL; or a study score of at least 27 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or equivalent studies . Rankings and adjustment factors Entry to this course is competitive. Eligible applicants are ranked and selected in order of merit based on their academic achievement plus any adjustment factors. You may be eligible to receive adjustment factors which include equity access schemes and/or subject adjustments to a maximum of 28 aggregate adjustment points.
