About this program
The Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) at RMIT University prepares graduates to promote the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities, applying interdisciplinary knowledge about Australian society, social problems and human needs to foster social change. RMIT has taught social work for more than 40 years, and courses reflect contemporary ideas about the profession. In the honours year, students pursue a topic in depth through a traditional thesis or capstone project, studying subjects including social work, social science and research, and undertake 140 days of field education work placement.
