About this program
RMIT University's Juris Doctor is a three-year graduate law degree for people who hold a bachelor degree in any field. It teaches the compulsory areas of legal knowledge required for admission to practice, plus electives, with an emphasis on practical legal skills and clinics. Completing the degree meets the academic requirements for admission to legal practice in Victoria; to be admitted a graduate must then complete practical legal training through a licensed provider for six months, or supervised practice for twelve months. Graduates work as solicitors and barristers, in government and in-house legal teams, and in policy, compliance and dispute resolution. Indicative international tuition is around A$48,000 per year for 2026.
