Advanced Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration

Torrens University Australia, Multi-campus, national, Australia

About this program

The course runs 12 core subjects over 1.7 years full time (five trimesters), starting with design fundamentals (Introduction to Design Studies, Graphic Communication, Design Drawing) before moving into decoration-specific subjects covering furnishings, finishes, product knowledge and joinery.

A project site analysis subject and a dedicated Work Integrated Learning unit give students supervised, real-project experience alongside the studio work, and a History of Architecture, Interior Design and Decoration subject provides the theoretical grounding. The course sits below the Bachelor of Interior Design (Commercial) in Torrens' design ladder and shares several early subjects with it.

Delivered on campus at Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and online, 1.7 years full time (5 trimesters) or 1 year accelerated, with part-time options.
