Bachelor of Arts
University of Canberra, Canberra, ACT, Australia
About this program
A three-year, 72 credit point arts degree built around a core major in Arts plus one specialist major chosen from about ten options, including Creative Writing, Digital Media, Film Production, Game Development, Journalism, Global Studies, Marketing Communication, Culture and Heritage, Literary Studies and Sports Media. The rest of the degree is open electives, so students can add a second major or spread across disciplines.
Teaching is project-based, and work integrated learning through internships, mentorships and placements is a required part of the structure rather than an add-on. Applicants can enter on academic results or through a portfolio that demonstrates creative potential. Graduates move into content and copywriting, production, curatorial and heritage work, communications and policy roles, with the exact path shaped by the major chosen. It suits students who want a flexible humanities and creative-industries degree with a clear practical and industry-facing emphasis.
