About this program
A one-year honours year following the Bachelor of Arts and Design or a related degree at the University of Canberra. It combines advanced coursework with a substantial supervised research project or creative work in a chosen area of the arts, design, media or humanities. Entry requires a completed bachelor's degree with a strong grade average in the relevant field and an available supervisor. The honours result is classified, and a first or upper second class is the standard requirement for PhD entry and many scholarships. It suits arts and design graduates who want to develop a research or practice-led project in depth and open a pathway to higher degree study.

Admissions
The Bachelor of Arts and Design (Honours) is open to UC students who have completed a degree in the Faculty of Arts and Design with at least a grade point average of 5.0 or better (equivalent to a credit average), or students from a three-year degree in a cognate discipline with a relevant major in which they received a grade point average of 5.0 or better. . Pass degree graduates in similar disciplinary fields from other universities, with comparable results, may also be eligible to undertake this honours degree.
