About this program
A four-year professional LLB (three years for graduate entry) accredited by the ACT Legal Practitioners Admission Board and, through mutual recognition, accepted for admission in every Australian state and territory. Graduates still complete separate practical legal training before they can be admitted.
Work-integrated learning is substantial: students take at least one law elective with a practical placement component, and UC runs a legal advice clinic for small business where students assist under supervision. Past internships have included community legal centres, courts, government departments and overseas placements. High-achieving students can add an embedded honours unit in the final year without extending the degree. Entry is a selection rank of 85, with alternative pathways including work experience and paralegal experience. The Canberra location gives good access to courts, government legal teams and policy work.
