About this program

A three-year science degree built around two majors, pathological basis of disease and genetic basis of disease, covering anatomy, physiology, disease mechanisms, genetics, genomics and bioinformatics, with laboratory-based professional practice units and the option of a supervised research project.

It is a common preparation for graduate-entry medicine via the GAMSAT, as well as for research careers and an honours year. Entry is a selection rank of about 60 with assumed knowledge in biology, chemistry and mathematical methods. It suits students aiming at medical research or postgraduate medicine, or who want a strong grounding in human health and disease before deciding.
