About this program
A three-year degree (72 credit points) pairing a core major in government and policy with a specialist major in politics and international relations, plus open electives, covering economics, political institutions, democracy, national security and Asia-Pacific geopolitics.
Work-integrated learning runs through internships and a capstone, with past placements at the Australian Border Force, the Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies and the Australian Institute of International Affairs, and exchange options are available with program approval. Being in Canberra puts students near Parliament, the public service and diplomatic missions. Entry is a selection rank of about 65 with no assumed knowledge. It suits students aiming at policy, diplomacy, intelligence, political journalism or international development work.
