About this program
The APAC-accredited fourth year of psychology study at the University of Canberra, taken after a three-year accredited psychology sequence. It combines advanced coursework with a supervised empirical research thesis, and completing it to a sufficient standard is a required step on the path to registration as a psychologist: after the accredited fourth year, students go on to a professional master's or the 5+1 internship route. Entry is competitive and based on the grade average across the core third-year psychology subjects. The honours result is classified. It suits psychology graduates committed to the professional pathway, and it is also valued on its own for research and analytical roles.

Admissions
This course has closing dates to submit applications that vary from standard UC application submission dates. For a semester 1 start, applications are due by the 31st October; for a semester 2 start, applications are due by 30th June. . Applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements: . A) completion of a qualifying psychology degree which is accredited by the Australian Psychological Accreditation Council (APAC) or equivalent*. The qualifying degree can be either: . i) a three year undergraduate psychology course or . ii) a Graduate Diploma for candidates who previously completed an undergraduate degree in a different discipline . B) Credit average in the APAC-required second and third year psychology units or graduate diploma units. . Entry is competitive. Applications are ranked by performance (GPA) in the APAC-required second and third year psychology / graduate diploma units. Thus, a higher than minimum GPA is generally needed to be offered a place. . * Equivalency is as determined by the Australian Psychological Society (APS)
