Graduate Certificate in Ultrasound Studies
University of Canberra, Canberra, ACT, Australia
About this program
A 12 credit point graduate certificate that is the first step toward a career in sonography, developing foundational knowledge and practical skills in medical ultrasound over about a year part-time in blended mode. On its own it does not confer accreditation: graduates must complete the Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound to become an Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry accredited sonographer. Applicants do not need to already work in a clinical role, but entry requires a bachelor's degree in medical radiation science, or a bachelor's in any field plus completed anatomy and physiology study. It suits people moving into sonography who want to start with a shorter qualification.
