About this program
A 24 credit point graduate diploma in law for non-law graduates, sitting between UC's Graduate Certificate in Law and the Juris Doctor. It covers foundational legal subjects and legal method in more depth than the certificate. It is not a qualification to practise law: that requires the Juris Doctor and admission. Units are credited toward the JD for students who continue. It suits professionals in policy, compliance, government and business who want substantial legal knowledge, or a staged path toward qualifying as a lawyer.

On both MLTSSL and CSOL, but a positive skills assessment is not the same as being able to practise. You must first be admitted to an Australian state legal profession, which for an overseas or JD graduate means passing the assessed academic subjects, completing Practical Legal Training, and being admitted by the state Supreme Court, before the occupation is realistically usable for a visa.
