Master of Education
University of Canberra, Canberra, ACT, Australia
About this program
A 24 credit point master's for people who already work in education, completed fully online over about 17 months with intakes every two months and one unit at a time. It is not an initial teaching qualification: entry requires current teacher registration, or a three-year education degree plus three years of professional experience. Students take a generalist path or specialise in STEM Education or Educational Leadership, with graduate certificate exit points in either. The coursework centres on analysing education theory, policy and curriculum and building reflective practice. Graduates move into roles such as curriculum coordinator, head of department, instructional leader, student wellbeing lead and deputy principal. It suits practising teachers and school leaders who want a flexible research-informed qualification to support progression, rather than a route into the classroom.
