About this program
The University of Canberra's Master of Education Studies is a two-year, 48 credit point degree for people who want to work on policy, curriculum and leadership rather than classroom teaching. One thing to be clear on: it is not externally accredited and is not recognised as a teaching qualification in Australia, so it does not lead to teacher registration. The structure is five core units, 27 credit points of electives and a 6 credit point capstone project, with work integrated learning and authentic assessment built through the degree. Study covers research methods, international policy trends and evidence-based program design. Entry is open to people with a three-year education degree, a bachelor's plus an education diploma, or equivalent professional experience. Graduates work as curriculum developers, policy advisers, educational researchers and senior school and sector leaders. It suits education professionals building toward leadership and policy roles.

Admissions
Applicants must have: . 1. Completed Bachelor degree* or equivalent in education OR . 2. Completed Bachelor degree* in any field and a Graduate Diploma (AQF8) in Education, OR . 3. Completed Bachelor degree* or equivalent in any field and four years of work experience in education or a relevant field as approved by the University. . *Applicants with an assessable qualification that is lower than AQF 7 will be considered under equivalent graduate status where employment experience will be assessed in combination with your academic qualification.
