About this program
A three-year qualifying master's (16 study blocks) for graduates who hold a bachelor's degree in a related field such as psychology, allied health, counselling, education or sociology, with prior study in social science and human behaviour. It is delivered online, with in-person attendance required only for placement.
Students complete 1,000 hours of field education across two supervised placements. The program is undergoing provisional accreditation with the Australian Association of Social Workers rather than holding full accreditation, which applicants should weigh, since AASW eligibility is what allows practice as an accredited social worker. Recognition of prior learning of up to 25 percent is available to social welfare and community services graduates. It suits career changers moving into aged care, disability, child and family, mental health, justice or policy work.
