About this program
The Graduate Diploma in Economics at Melbourne Business School is a shorter, flexible graduate qualification giving students professional economist skills at honours level. Students complete eight subjects across 100 points, including two core economics subjects, one quantitative subject and five electives, over one year full-time or two years part-time.
Students with good results can progress to Year Two of the Master of Economics. Graduates have gone on to roles including economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Productivity Commission.

Admissions
To be considered for entry into this course, you must: Have completed a bachelor degree (AQF7) in a cognate (relevant) discipline, or equivalent. and have completed the following prerequisite subjects: Econometrics (ECOM20001) with a score of 75%, or equivalent Intermediate Microeconomics (ECON20002) with a score of 75%, or equivalent Intermediate Macroeconomics (ECON20001) with as score of 75%, or equivalent Quantitative Methods 2 (ECON20003) with a score of 75%, or equivalent Cognate (relevant) disciplines include: Economics, Econometrics, Finance, or a major with a strong analytical or mathematical component (such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics etc).
