Master of Education

University of Melbourne, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

The Master of Education builds advanced knowledge of education theory and leadership for middle and senior roles, with a choice of ten specialisations, described as the broadest range of any Master of Education in Australia. Qualified teachers can fast-track the degree in twelve months, while students without a teaching qualification complete the full two-year program. Classes are offered in the evening and on weekends, with part-time and some online study available, and the course includes overseas study and research options. It is taught on campus at Parkville with March and July intakes. This is not a teacher-qualifying degree. Graduates move into curriculum and instructional leadership, education policy and research, program evaluation, and senior roles across schools, systems, and the tertiary and adult education sectors.
