About this program
The University of Newcastle Bachelor of Information Technology has three majors: ICT Developer, covering software, web, mobile and game development; ICT Business Analyst, covering business, data, systems and business intelligence analysis; and ICT Security Specialist, covering cyber security analysis, information security and network security. Students undertake a career-ready industry placement for hands-on experience and complete a major team IT project, ideally developed with an industry partner. Admission usually requires a senior secondary qualification similar to the NSW Higher School Certificate, and applicants whose first language is not English must meet the University English proficiency requirement. Indicative international tuition is around A$46,200 per year. Career paths depend on the major, spanning software development, business analysis and cyber security roles across many industries.
