The University of Queensland's Bachelor of Information Technology builds a foundation in software and hardware and then lets students specialise through flexible study plans. The available majors are Computer Systems and Networks, Enterprise Information Systems, Software Design, Software Information Systems, and User Experience (UX) Design, covering programming and software engineering, large-scale database design, and the interdisciplinary field of human-centred design. International students must meet UQ's English requirement of IELTS 6.5 overall with no sub-band below 6.0, along with senior secondary English and Mathematical Methods or their equivalents. An additional Honours year is available. UQ reports that 82.5 per cent of graduates are in full-time employment, in roles such as software engineer, systems analyst, systems architect, UX designer, project manager and technology manager.
