About this program
UQ's Bachelor of Information Technology is built around three interconnected pillars, data, code and people, letting students specialise in any of these areas while completing a shared core curriculum. A distinctive project-based studio stream runs throughout the degree, where students drive their own learning by designing and developing new technologies in teams rather than only completing set assignments. Core courses include human-computer interaction, social and mobile computing, programming in the large and artificial intelligence, and the degree can be combined into dual programs with engineering or arts. Courseware is developed with UQ's industry partners to keep content aligned with what technology employers are actually looking for. Typical graduate roles include software developer, experience designer, system architect, cyber security specialist and software engineer.
