About this program
The Bachelor of Wildlife Science is a three-year degree that combines ecology, conservation and animal biology to help students understand, protect and manage wildlife in a changing world, drawing on zoology, ecology, conservation biology, veterinary science and animal husbandry. Queensland's biodiversity serves as a natural laboratory, with field experiences embedded throughout. The first year is at the St Lucia campus, building a foundation in ecology, environmental management and animal science, with later years split between the St Lucia and Gatton campuses depending on the chosen major in Captive Wildlife Management or Wildlife Conservation. A mid-year intake is available. Graduates work in wildlife conservation and management, zoos and captive animal care, environmental consulting, research, and government conservation and biosecurity agencies.
