About this program
The Master of Epidemiology is a postgraduate program at UQ's St Lucia campus that develops epidemiological, biostatistical and methodological skills to an advanced level. It is designed for applicants with a background in epidemiology, quantitative research or health, and combines compulsory courses that build knowledge of epidemiology as a discipline with electives across research and public health. Graduates work in disease surveillance and outbreak investigation, health research, evidence synthesis and policy across government, research institutes and non-government organisations.

Admissions
You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification. Relevant disciplines for previous qualifications Relevant disciplines include advanced sciences, behavioural and social sciences, biomedical sciences, biostatistics, counselling, dentistry and oral health, development studies, environmental health, environmental science, exercise and sport science, food science, health economics, health management, mathematics, medicine and medical sciences, nursing, nutrition, occupational health and safety, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physiotherapy, psychology, public health and health sciences, science, sociology, speech therapy, and veterinary sciences. Relevant work experience Depending on the previous qualification we will review any experience in a healthcare, public health or research setting to determine eligibility.
