About this program
The Master of Physiotherapy Studies is a two-year full-time program at UQ's St Lucia campus that qualifies graduates as accredited physiotherapists. It is designed for people who have completed an approved bachelor's degree with prerequisite study in human anatomy and physiology, and builds the theoretical knowledge, diagnostic and clinical skills to work as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Graduates work as physiotherapists in hospitals, private and sports practice, aged and community care, and rehabilitation.

A sample of what you will study includes: Foundations of Physiotherapy I: Fundamentals of Communication, Movement & Exercise, Foundations of Physiotherapy II: Fundamentals of Examination & Measurement, Theory, Practice & Research: Musculoskeletal Phty - Lower Limb, Theory, Practice & Research: Musculoskeletal Phty - Lumbar Spine. The exact course list and any core versus elective structure depends on the specialisation and study plan you choose, and is confirmed in the program's official course list at enrolment
Admissions
To be eligible for entry, you'll need: A bachelor's degree (or equivalent), with completed university-level studies in human anatomy and human physiology. Please see 'Additional application information' below for further details on entry requirements. You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 4.5 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification. Entry is competitive based on GPA with a limited intake. The GPA cut-off for those offered a place in 2023 was 5.59. Applicants who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander who meet the minimum entry requirements for this program will be offered a place. On admission to the program, you will need to provide evidence of your Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status.
