About this program
The Master of Speech Pathology Studies is an accelerated two-year postgraduate program at UQ's St Lucia campus for students who have completed an undergraduate degree, qualifying them as speech pathologists. Students build on their existing qualifications, expanding theoretical knowledge and professional attributes while gaining the clinical and research skills to graduate with confidence. Graduates work as speech pathologists in hospitals, community and aged care, schools, private practice, disability services and research.

A sample of what you will study includes: Professional practice & person-centred communication skills, Anatomy & neuroanatomy fundamentals for speech pathologists, Communication & feeding skills in children, Communication and swallowing skills in adults. An applicant whose approved degree was awarded more than 10 years prior to program commencement will not be considered unless the applicant within the last 10 years has completed: a postgraduate program, or at least one semester full-time (or equivalent) of other approved university level studyEntry is competitive based on GPA with a limited intake.Applicants who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander who meet the minimum entry requirements for this program will be offered a place. Relevant disciplines for previous qualifications Study in fields such as health, humanities, education, social, physical, or biological sciences is recommended.
