About this program
The Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney is a 4-year postgraduate coursework professional doctoral degree. Students build skills through practice-based learning, in a four-year dentistry degree developed to meet the changing oral health needs of the community. Graduates from any discipline who are interested in becoming a dentist, with a passion for healthcare and improving people’s lives through oral health. Over four years students complete core units according to a prescribed course of study in life sciences, clinical dentistry and research. Students also complete clinical and practical placements at Westmead and other Sydney sites and rural locations, and have an opportunity to complete an elective unit. Graduates from this program will be eligible for registration as a dentist with the Dental Board of Australia.
