About this program
The Master of Exercise Physiology at the University of Sydney trains graduates to design, deliver and evaluate safe, effective exercise interventions for people with acute, sub-acute and chronic conditions, injuries or disabilities. Core units, a selective unit and a final-semester capstone project cover cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, musculoskeletal, cancer, kidney and respiratory practice.
Graduates become eligible to work as accredited exercise physiologists in private and public health, rehabilitation, occupational health and safety, sport and research settings. The University of Sydney teaches in the purpose-built Susan Wakil Health Building, with dedicated clinical simulation and research facilities.

Admissions
Admission to candidature for the Master of Exercise Physiology requires the applicant to have: A bachelor or master’s degree or a PhD in exercise science or a health-related discipline from the University of Sydney, or qualifications deemed by the faculty to be equivalent; and A minimum average mark of 60 out of 100 or equivalent (GPA of 4.5 out of 7) any other minimum standards specified by the Faculty of Medicine and Health. Evidence of*: a current Exercise Scientist Accreditation (AES) with Exercise and Sport Science Australia ; or completion of a bachelor or master’s degree accredited by Exercise and Sport Science Australia at the level of Exercise Science; or an approved Graduate Entry Assessment from Exercise and Sport Science Australia * by providing evidence of accreditation, applicants are also proving extensive pre-existing knowledge in human anatomy, human or exercise physiology and research design and statistics. For domestic applicants, the Indigenous Facilitated Entry Scheme and the Rural Applicants Facilitated Entry Scheme are available for eligible applicants.
