About this program
The University of Tasmania Bachelor of Engineering (Specialisation) with Honours is billed as Australia first engineering degree built around Climate Safe Engineering, embedding climate mitigation and adaptation across civil, mechanical and electrical engineering. First year covers engineering fundamentals through a climate lens before students choose a specialisation; from second year they combine advanced technical skills with labs, workshops and real-world projects, complete 12 weeks of industry placement, and finish with an honours project. It can be taken combined with a Bachelor of Science. Admission requires a qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12, an AQF Certificate IV or above, or prior tertiary study at diploma level. Indicative international tuition is around A$47,400 per year. Graduates work as professional civil, mechanical and electrical engineers.
