About this program

The Bachelor of Design in Fashion and Textiles at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is a practice-focused degree covering garment design, illustration and construction, and fabric and textile creation, in facilities that include 3D printing and seamless knitting machines. Students study key design theory and can take a Global Studio elective overseas.
Study takes three years full-time. Graduates work in the Australian and international fashion industry. English requirements are IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with 6.0 in writing.

Admissions

Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level. UTS: Design, Architecture and Building may consider applications based on the results of the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) if students lack academic qualifications but have extensive professional experience. The STAT is conducted through Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER ). Students must refer to the inherent requirements for all degrees offered by Design and Architecture in the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building. Assumed knowledge: Any two units of English. Design and Technology, Visual Arts are recommended.
