About this program
The Graduate Certificate in Legal Studies at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is for graduates from non-law disciplines who want a working knowledge of Australian law. Students complete three core legal subjects covering how Australian law is made and structured, plus contracts and constitutional law, and build skills in critical thinking, ethics and legal research.
The course does not lead to admission as a lawyer, but gives professionals legal knowledge that applies across industries. It articulates into the UTS Graduate Diploma and Master of Legal Studies. English requirements are IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with 6.0 in writing.

Admissions
Completed Australian bachelor's degree, or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent OR Capacity to study the course demonstrated through a minimum of 2 years' full-time, or equivalent part-time, relevant professional work experience The qualification must be in a field of study other than law or, if the qualification is in a legal field of study, it shall not be an academic qualification for legal practice.
