About this program
The Master of Genetic Counselling at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) prepares students to assess genetic health risks, counsel individuals and families, and support decision-making. It is delivered mostly online, with interactive asynchronous learning, weekly live classes and a week-long on-campus block each session, plus supervised clinical placements and research training in evidence-based care.
The degree is accredited by the Human Genetics Society of Australasia. Study takes two years full-time. Graduates work as genetic counsellors in clinical genetics services, hospitals and research settings. English requirements are IELTS Academic 7.0 overall.

Completed Australian bachelor's degree or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent, in related field of study with a minimum GPA of 4/7 AND Completed one human genetics subject (to second- or third-year undergraduate level, or equivalent)
