About this program
The Master of Midwifery (Research) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is a supervised research degree of about two years full-time for midwives and health professionals who want to build a research career. Students design their program with a supervisor and the UTS Faculty of Health, investigate a chosen midwifery topic over multiple years, and submit a thesis or a practice-led project such as a policy proposal.
The degree develops research design, analysis and communication skills for careers in maternity service improvement, policy, education and doctoral study. English requirements are IELTS Academic 7.0 overall.

Admissions
Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate research studies. Applicants are required to have authorisation to practise as a registered midwife. Applicants are also required to submit a research proposal and have the agreement of a suitable supervisor at the time of application.
