Bachelor of Science
University of the Sunshine Coast, Sippy Downs, QLD, Australia
About this program
The Bachelor of Science at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) is a three-year, 24-course degree (CRICOS 022804D) with intakes in Trimester 1 and Trimester 2. The first year builds a foundation through introductory courses in cell diversity, biodiversity and ecology, chemistry and science research methods, with optional mathematics courses for students planning a quantitative specialisation.
Students then choose majors and minors, which shape the rest of the degree; some combinations, such as a chemistry major with a mathematics or biotechnology minor, start only in Trimester 1. Learning includes specialised laboratory work and field studies, preparing students for professional scientific settings. Graduates work in industry, government, education and research, or continue to honours, master's and PhD study. International students on a student visa must study on campus and full-time.
